FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Families from Markham and Stouffville can email us with questions about programs, camps, drop-ins, birthday parties, registration, or choosing the right option for their child.

When do programs, camps, and drop-ins run?
Leap offers school-year gymnastics programs from September to June, summer classes and summer camp during the summer season, P.A. day camps on select school closure dates, birthday parties on weekends, and Drop-In during scheduled drop-in times. Current dates, times, availability, and registration details are listed online.
How do we register?
Families can register online from any page of the site. Registration, account access, and club emails are all handled through the same family system.
Do you offer a sibling discount?
Buy Full Program Registration(s) for at least 2 and no more than 3 participants within the same invoice and receive 5% off for each participant's qualifying item up to the 3rd participant.
What should my child wear to class?
Comfortable athletic wear works well. Hair should be tied back if long, jewelry should be avoided, and athletes will be barefoot in the gym.
What should my child bring?
A labelled water bottle and comfortable athletic clothing. For camp days, also bring lunch and two snacks.
Do I get a make-up class if my child is absent?

Cancellations and Withdrawals from Programs

Recreational Fall to Spring Programs

Families who wish to cancel or withdraw from a Recreational Fall to Spring Program must provide 15 days' written notice by email.

The cancellation or withdrawal will take effect 15 days from the date Leap Gymnastics receives the written notice. Families are responsible for any fees that fall within the notice period.

Program fees are not prorated for the current month or billing period. For example, if notice is received partway through a month, the fees for that month are not refunded or credited.

If the program was paid in full, any fees already paid for future months after the withdrawal takes effect will be refunded, excluding any non-refundable fees, such as the Gymnastics Ontario fee where applicable.

If the program is paid by monthly instalments, future instalments after the withdrawal takes effect will be cancelled.

Leap Gymnastics does not charge a cancellation or withdrawal fee. However, Gymnastics Ontario fees, where applicable, are non-refundable once processed.

Cancellation Before a Recreational Fall to Spring Program Begins

Families who wish to cancel a Recreational Fall to Spring Program registration before the program begins must provide 15 days' written notice by email before the first scheduled class.

If at least 15 days' notice is provided before the program begins, program fees paid may be refunded, excluding any non-refundable fees, such as the Gymnastics Ontario fee where applicable.

If less than 15 days' notice is provided before the program begins, the first month or billing period is not refundable.

Once the program has started, the regular Recreational Fall to Spring withdrawal policy applies.

Competitive Programs

Competitive program withdrawals are reviewed separately and may be subject to the terms outlined in the athlete's competitive program agreement.

Missed competitive classes are not eligible for make-ups, refunds, or credits.

Recreational Summer Programs

Recreational Summer Programs run for a shorter period and have limited class availability.

Families who wish to cancel before the program begins must submit the request in writing by email before the first scheduled class. Cancellation requests may be reviewed based on the timing of the request and program availability.

If approved, program fees paid may be refunded, excluding any non-refundable fees, such as the Gymnastics Ontario fee where applicable.

Once a Recreational Summer Program has started, fees are not prorated for missed or unused classes. Withdrawal requests after the program has started may be reviewed based on the timing of the request and program availability.

Competitive Summer Programs

Unfortunately, there are no make-ups, refunds, or credits for missed Competitive Summer Programs.

Camps, including PA Day, Winter Break, March Break, and Summer Camps

Camp spaces are reserved specifically for the selected date, week, or camp program. Due to staffing, planning, and limited availability, there are no make-ups, refunds, or credits for missed camp days.

Families who wish to cancel a camp registration before the camp date or camp week begins must submit the request in writing by email. Cancellation requests may be reviewed based on the timing of the request and camp availability.

What is the Gymnastics Ontario Registration Fee?

The Gymnastics Ontario Registration Fee is an annual fee that applies to each participant registered in an applicable Leap program.

  • Why is it required? It registers the participant with Gymnastics Ontario and includes sport accident insurance coverage while participating in Gymnastics Ontario-sanctioned activities.
  • How much is it? The fee is $50 per participant and is added at checkout when applicable. It is separate from program tuition.
  • How often is it charged? The Gymnastics Ontario membership year runs from July 1 to June 30. The $50 fee is charged only once per participant during that membership year, regardless of how many applicable Leap programs the participant registers for.
